Multi Domain LogIn
Do you have multiple domains pointing to your website?
It is quite common now to have separate domain names for each country or for separate white label sites; but it can lead to problems with running security log-in systems that enable your clients or admin managers, to run a single log in across all the domains. That is when you need Multidomain login which enables the ‘user state’ to be carried across transparently between them.
Do you have multiple domains on your website, such as several different country domains? Or maybe you have collected domains over the years for different entrances to your service? If so, you would probably have noticed the frustration that comes with the user login experience and the inability to sign a user into or out of all domains at once.
There is a solution to this problem however which TheDevTeam have created, allowing users to sign in once and remain signed in seamlessly whichever of your domains or sub-domains users are trying to access. It is also supported by all modern browsers, and of the few older unsupported browsers the system falls back to its original behaviour.
Take Fish4Flies.com for example. If you visit here and click on the currency icons within the header, you will find that the user has been directed to an appropriate country domain, either Fish4Flies.co.uk or Fish4Flies.eu to display the correct currency options.
If you take a moment to sign in (This site also supports OpenAuth allowing you to quickly sign-in with your existing google account), you will notice that whichever country version of the site you now visit, it will maintain your sign-in state.
Traditionally this has proven to have multiple difficulties whilst implement due to Cross-Domain scripting, permissions and preventing cross-domain attacks; however, we have developed this system to handle these problems while also allow easier and fast integration into your website application.
